Day 1
Today I flew to Nashville, but before I left on the plane, I had to go in early to school and take a Social Studies test. When we got to Nashville, we ate at the Spaghetti Factory with my manager Keith, his fiancee Lisa, and my mom and dad. That is my very favorite place to eat. I love mozarella cheese! It is so exciting being in Nashville. There is a time difference of 2 hours so I was not that tired. I tried to answer some mail and catch up. Oh, I almost forgot. I had a surprise waiting for me, Lily. She is a cat that I fell in love with last visit and she is staying with me again. Also, I met Warren, Keith and Lisa's new dog. And, Wiley, their other dog is still cute as ever.
Day 2
Today, I met Michele Vice. I wrote a song with her and Keith. She is such a cool person. We had a great time. I love the song we all wrote. Michele had to go back to California, so when we finished writing we went out to eat before taking her to the airport. Lisa, my mom and dad were out shopping for clothes for me for the photo shoot. I am so excited to try on new clothes and shoes.
Day 3
I recorded the song that Michele, Keith and I wrote today. After that, Keith turned on the video camera and recorded me doing a blog. I had to talk into the camera and tell him about writing with Michele. It was fun. That was my first experience writing with someone and I really enjoyed it. Before bed, I answered some more comments. I also got to try on some of my new clothes because Keith needed to approve them to make sure they were the right look for the photo shoot and performance we are doing in two days.
Day 4
Today I wrote with Keith and Robin Scoffield. She is so much fun to work with! We wrote this dance tune that sounds like something you'd hear in Abercrombie. I can't wait for you to hear it! After we wrote it, I recorded the first verse and chorus. Then my hairstylist came over to Keith and Lisa's house. Her name is Judy. She cut and highlighted my hair. I absolutely LOVE her! She is so much fun to talk to and I can tell her anything. I also love her kids. They are the cutest kids ever!
Day 5
I prepared for my performance at a school. I went there for a quick sound check. This is the school that participated in the making of my video "Goodbyes" and tomorrow I am going to sing 2 songs and then we are going to show the video for the first time. We thought it would be cool since a lot of the kids were actually in the video. After sound check, I got to go shopping with my mom and Lisa to look for the perfect outfit for my performance...It's tomorrow and we still don't have the perfect outfit! Yikes! Today was so much fun! I got my first French manicure ever. My nails look so pretty. After the manicure, I went home to get a good night sleep because Lo, my makeup artist, wants me to be at the school around 6:00 am to start getting ready. It is going to be a long and busy day. Wow, that means we have to get up at 5 am.
Day 6
I sang two songs with my guitar player, Jonathan Crone. It was so much fun. Daryl even got to come. He plays the teacher in the video, "Goodbyes". The kids loved it. After the premier of the video, I signed a bunch of autographs. I even signed a boy's face! That was a first for me also! I had the best time. The kids at the school are great and so nice to me. I even got interviewed by Brad Schmitt from channel 2 news. After the busy morning, we headed over to the photography studio for my photo shoot. It was so much fun and I got to wear amazing clothes. Mason came over to shoot some behind the scenes footage of me at the photo shoot. I love my makeup and hairstylist, Lo and my videographer, Mason. They rock!
Day 7
I wrote a song with Matt Bronleewe today. It is so cool and has a rock edge to it. It is one of my favorite songs that I have ever written! We worked hard on it. After Matt left, I recorded some more with Keith. Each day before I meet the songwriters, I get my hair and makeup done by Lisa and get to pick out a new outfit. It is so much fun. Lisa does my hair so pretty and different ways. She is great!
Day 8
Today we wrote with Liz Rose. We wrote a ballad and it's so cool. I can't believe how lucky I am to work with all of these amazing songwriters. Every one of them was so nice to me and I can't wait to be able to work with them again. Before I wrote with them I only wrote songs by myself, but it is fun to write with other people and play off of each others ideas. Tonight we had a surprise party for Keith and ate strawberry ice cream cake from Cold Stone.
Day 9
All day today I recorded. I leave tomorrow to go back to Oregon, so Keith crammed in a full day of recording with Jonathan. They are so much fun to work with. I love being in the recording studio. For a special treat, I got to pick dinner and we had Indian food. YUM! Then, it was back to the recording studio. We finished recording vocals on 3 of the 4 songs we wrote this week.
Day 10
We had to go back home today. We were on a plane all day long. It is a really long flight. After we got back home, I went to Cold Stone with my friends. I really missed them while I was gone. I can't believe I go back to school tomorrow. Our school was on spring break, so I only missed one day of school and only had to make up one days worth of work. I can't believe the time went by so fast. I already miss Nashville!
Day 11
Today I went back to school. It was boring, but I had fun seeing my friends. I am looking forward to Saturday because it is my dance team banquet. I am on the high school dance team and we dance from August to April. Then, we have a state dance competition in March and a banquet to celebrate in April. The theme is Disney princesses so it will be fun! My favorite princess is Belle.
Day 12
Today I had a lot of homework, but I got it all done in time for American Idol. I really want Jason Castro to win! He is so talented and so cute! I also got a surprise phone call from Judy, my hairstylist. I miss everyone from Nashville. They are all my new family now. I am finally getting caught up on my mail. YAY!
Day 13
Tonight was one of the greatest nights ever!! My best friend Lauren's dad got us tickets to the Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift concert. We even got a backstage pass to meet the Rascal Flatts. They are so cool and we got our picture taken with them. We had seats in the pit, right in front of the stage. It was so exciting. Taylor Swift's guitar player even came down and took a picture with us and gave us guitar picks with Taylor's picture on them. I had the best time. I can't wait until I can perform on stage like that and have a concert of my own. One of my favorite parts is the souvenirs, so Lauren and I got t-shirts and pictures. The concert was awesome!!
Day 14
Tonight we had our Dance team banquet. It was so much fun. There were lots of food and decorations. We took a lot of pictures. Part of it was sad because some of the girls will be graduating and not coming back next year. They have been on the dance team for 4 years. One of the dads made a video of the whole dance team and put in things from the whole year. It was fun to watch. Then, we got awards and guess what award I got? I got "Miss Hollywood." I really love my dance team and when I am home schooled next year and traveling, I will really miss them.
